President Donald Trump congratulated Democrats on their midterm election victories and pledged to work with the opposition following significant Republican setbacks.
Speaking to CBS News on Tuesday, Trump said he would accept the election results as Democrats moved towards securing control of both chambers of Congress. Watching the returns from the White House, he attributed Republican losses partly to his absence from the ballot, saying there was little that could have been done about it. Trump expressed no regret over endorsing Republican candidates, despite Senator Darline Graham losing her race and Attorney General Ken Paxton trailing in his Senate campaign.
