President Donald Trump’s administration has offered Katie Zacharia the position of White House press secretary, according to a report first published by The New York Times and confirmed to CNBC by a White House official.
Zacharia serves as a senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates Trump’s Truth Social platform. She previously worked as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security before leaving in March.
She also served as a legal adviser to Fix California, a conservative organization founded by Richard Grenell, a former Trump envoy to Venezuela.
Zacharia had not formally accepted the position or publicly commented on the offer at the time of the report.
