President Donald Trump said a second round of peace talks with Iran could begin as early as Friday, according to a report by New York Post. The report said Trump responded to claims from Pakistani officials about a possible timeline by saying talks were “possible.”
Pakistan has been acting as a mediator between Washington and Tehran.

Despite rising tensions and incidents involving commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the report noted that the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran has held for two weeks.
Trump has extended the truce to allow Iran time to respond to a broader peace proposal.
