President Donald Trump will appoint Dan Scavino, a longtime aide and deputy chief of staff, to lead the White House Presidential Personnel Office. The move gives Scavino authority over hiring across the administration, a key role in shaping Trump’s “America First” agenda.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt praised Scavino as one of the president’s most trusted advisers, saying his leadership would ensure the administration is staffed with “qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers.”

Scavino has been one of Trump’s closest allies since his first term, serving in senior communications roles and remaining a central figure in the MAGA movement.
He replaces Sergio Gor, recently nominated as ambassador to India and special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs. Gor had previously taken a hardline approach to vetting candidates but drew criticism, including from Elon Musk. Some MAGA activists pushed for Laura Loomer, but senior officials opted for Scavino.
