President Donald Trump has insisted that diplomatic efforts in the Middle East remain active despite renewed military exchanges between Israel and Iran, which have raised concerns about the durability of a ceasefire established earlier this year.
In posts on Truth Social, Trump called for an immediate halt to hostilities and said negotiations toward a broader peace agreement were still moving forward. He also stated that a U.S. blockade would remain in place until a final deal is reached.
Iranian officials argued that U.S. actions, including the blockade and developments in Lebanon, had undermined ceasefire conditions.
Trump reportedly spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has continued to push for a negotiated settlement. However, an Iranian official involved in talks told MS NOW that a deal with the Trump administration is no longer feasible under current circumstances.
Despite public optimism from Washington, renewed violence has complicated efforts to secure a lasting agreement.
