Federal authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection with an alleged plot targeting a UFC event held at the White House earlier this month, expanding an investigation that officials say successfully prevented a potentially deadly attack.
According to law enforcement officials, the newly arrested individuals face conspiracy-to-commit-murder charges related to an alleged plan to attack the June 14 event.
Investigators claim members of the group discussed multiple methods of carrying out an assault, including the use of drones, firearms, and other tactics intended to create panic and mass casualties.
Officials maintain that the alleged conspiracy was disrupted before any operational phase of the plan could be executed. Authorities have not publicly identified all of the suspects or disclosed the full scope of the evidence collected, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation and pending court proceedings.
Federal prosecutors are expected to present additional details as the case moves through the judicial system. Meanwhile, investigators continue to examine whether other individuals may have been involved in planning, financing, or supporting the alleged plot.
