The United States launched another round of strikes against Iran as tensions in the Middle East continued to escalate, while Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis threatened a maritime blockade targeting Saudi Arabia, according to the report.
U.S. Central Command said the strikes targeted Iranian military facilities, missile and drone launch sites, air defenses and maritime assets to reduce Tehran's ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, regional mediators have proposed a 10-day ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, although analysts cautioned that major differences remain.
President Donald Trump warned that Iran would face severe retaliation if American troops are killed. Energy analysts said prolonged disruptions to both waterways could trigger another sharp rise in global oil prices.
