President Donald Trump declared that recent U.S. strikes against Iran remain "very limited," describing the country as a "failed nation" with its air force, navy, and leadership severely crippled.
Speaking to reporters from the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that maritime operations through the Strait of Hormuz are stable under U.S. Navy protection, preventing global oil price spikes.
Reiterating Washington's core objective, Trump pledged that Tehran will never obtain nuclear weapons, warning that a nuclear-armed Iran would have destroyed Israel and posed a direct threat to American cities.

Reporter: "Is the presumption of strikes in Iran part of a limited campaign or a return to full-scale war? And how will you respond to this—"
Donald Trump: "It's very limited. Look, they're a failed nation. Yeah, they're a failed nation. They've got 350 percent inflation. They have no currency. They're not paying their soldiers. Their leaders are largely dead. Their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Their surveillance equipment is almost entirely gone.
That doesn't mean we won't smack them. We'll see what happens. But we have the Strait of Hormuz in extremely good shape. You know, many, many ships got through last night, as you know, with the Navy's assistance. And we've been averaging 30 ships a night. That's a lot, and a lot of oil is coming out. That's why you haven't seen the price of oil go like they thought it might have to go.
And the main thing when I say it all—I could go on for an hour about what a great job we've done. We've done a great job with Venezuela. We've done a great job with Iran. Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. See, that's what it's all about. It's not about any of the other things. It's about—we as a country, and as for the world—Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. If Iran had a nuclear weapon, Israel would have been wiped out. You would have no Israel right now, and you'd probably have no Middle East, and they'd be hitting our cities at some point because they're sick people. And Iran will never have a nuclear weapon."
