The driveway of a $10.5 million Malibu beachfront mansion owned by Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage collapsed early Tuesday, creating a massive crater roughly 30 feet wide.

Fueled by high surf, heavy tides, and coastal erosion from offshore storms, the sudden ground failure swallowed sections of asphalt, concrete, and debris right outside the oceanfront estate.

Emergency crews responded shortly before 6:00 a.m. following a resulting gas main leak, which utility workers contained.

Officials issued "red-tag" entry bans for five adjacent properties, declaring them unsafe while structural engineers evaluate the stability of the coastal private road.
