At least 24 people were killed and several others injured on Sunday after a passenger bus collided with a truck along Kenya’s primary highway. Police reported that emergency services rushed the surviving victims to nearby medical facilities for treatment following the high-impact crash.
The deadly collision occurred on the vital arterial route connecting the capital, Nairobi, with the coastal port city of Mombasa.
This latest tragedy comes just three weeks after another horrific accident along the same stretch of highway claimed 17 lives, sharpening public scrutiny over persistent road safety hazards and enforcement along the corridor.
