Local authorities in Ukraine's western Lviv region are assessing the aftermath of a massive Russian drone attack that targeted critical municipal infrastructure far from the active front lines.
The Sunday morning assault concentrated heavily on the transport hub of Stryi, where multiple impact sites were recorded. Strikes damaged a multi-story residential building, structures near the city’s railway station, and utility areas close to a local school.
Emergency crews rushed to evacuate residents and extinguish localized fires caused by falling debris. While preliminary reports indicate no fatalities or injuries, the strikes underscore mounting anxieties over the expansion of aerial bombardments toward Ukraine's western borders.
