President Donald Trump intensified his rhetoric during a Michigan campaign stop, branding Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed a "jihadist" and attempting to link him to Muslim extremists.
Speaking to supporters in the battleground state, Trump questioned the former public health official's loyalty to the nation and argued El-Sayed poses a security threat.
El-Sayed firmly dismissed the accusations as a xenophobic distraction designed to divert voters' attention from pressing economic and healthcare issues. Pointing out the hypocrisy of Trump's emphasis on his full name and faith, El-Sayed maintained that voters would reject the divisive attacks come Election Day.
