August 24 marks the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, and it also marks four and a half years of conflict with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky honored fallen soldiers in Kyiv as the country marked Independence Day, saying Ukraine wants peace but will not surrender.
