Germany and Britain have delivered the first consignment of advanced battle tanks to Ukraine, helping Kyiv as it battles to push back Russian forces.
The tanks were promised to Kyiv earlier this year and arrived on Monday before a possible Ukrainian spring offensive.
Germany’s Defence Ministry said that 18 Leopard 2 tanks were delivered after Ukrainian crews were trained to use them.
According to reports from Ukraine, Kyiv also received 14 Challenger 2 tanks from the UK.
In addition, three Leopard 2 tanks donated by Portugal also reached Ukraine, Reuters said
