President Donald Trump said the Qatari-donated aircraft currently serving as Air Force One will undergo additional upgrades, appearing to acknowledge concerns about its security capabilities.
Reported by CNN, Trump said the aircraft would be sent for about a month to be "maxed out" after questions were raised about its missile defense systems.
According to CNN, officials familiar with the matter said the retrofitted Qatari jet does not match the security capabilities of the purpose-built Air Force One used previously, although it includes many similar features.
The report also said the administration has investigated leaks related to the aircraft after media reports highlighted its security limitations, including subpoenas issued to several journalists.
