Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene apologized Sunday for contributing to what she called America’s “toxic politics.” Her remarks came days after President Donald Trump publicly cut ties with her on Truth Social, calling her a “traitor,” a “ranting lunatic,” and a “disgrace” to the Republican Party. Trump also said he would back a primary challenger.

In her first interview since the fallout, Greene told CNN’s Dana Bash that Trump’s accusation of treason was “extremely wrong” and said such language could endanger her life.
Bash noted Greene had used the same rhetoric against others. Greene acknowledged the criticism and said she wants “a new path forward” centered on kindness and accountability.
Greene’s push to release the Epstein files, her break with Trump on foreign policy, and her criticism of Senate Republicans during the recent shutdown reportedly fueled the clash. Still, she said she supports Trump’s agenda and will not back down from advocating for Epstein’s victims.
