The fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran faced renewed pressure after both sides exchanged military strikes over the weekend, according to the report.

US Central Command said American forces targeted radar installations, air defense systems, a ground control station and drone sites near Geruk and on Qeshm Island. The military said the operation was carried out after Iran allegedly shot down a US MQ-1 drone operating over international waters.

Iran responded with its own military action, the report said. Kuwait reported incoming missile and drone fire early Monday, prompting its air defenses to intercept the threats.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed it was retaliating against a US attack and accused American forces of targeting a telecommunications facility.

The latest escalation comes as Washington and Tehran continue negotiations aimed at ending the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, Iran still maintains restrictions in the strategic waterway, disrupting energy supplies and keeping pressure on global fuel markets.

Despite the tensions, President Donald Trump expressed confidence that a deal remains possible, saying Iran wants an agreement and that negotiations could ultimately succeed.
