Unverified claims about Chinese President Xi Jinping’s health have spread online following the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, with social media posts alleging that he suffered a stroke and was hospitalized after returning to Beijing.
The claims, circulated by Wanjun Xie and others, allege that Xi fainted during the summit and was taken by military helicopter to PLA General Hospital, commonly known as 301 Hospital.
Official accounts provide a different timeline. China’s Foreign Ministry said Xi left New Delhi on September 13 after successfully concluding his visit, while official summit records show that he participated in the second session of the meeting.
Online speculation has also linked the unverified health claims to a possible future U.S. visit. At present, there is no verified evidence establishing that Xi suffered a stroke or that his health has affected his official schedule.
