Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised European leaders for their continued support as relations with US President Donald Trump deteriorate over the war with Russia, according to CNN.
Speaking at a Brussels summit on Friday, Zelensky thanked the European Union for standing with Ukraine since Russia’s invasion. He said preparing for winter, securing energy supplies and obtaining additional air defence equipment and funding remained priorities.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen similarly accused Moscow of disregarding the ceasefire and called for increased pressure on Russia.
Ukraine faces additional military challenges. A source told CNN that Kyiv had exhausted its supply of US-made Patriot interceptor missiles, leaving it more vulnerable to Russian ballistic missile strikes.
