Emergency crews evacuated a high-rise construction site in Midtown East after two structural support beams buckled on the 21st floor, raising concerns about the building's stability.
According to the report, the incident prompted the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) to deploy 21 units and 79 personnel, while nearby buildings were also evacuated as a precaution.
The report said the 38-story property, formerly known as the Pfizer Building, is being converted into a 1,500-unit luxury rental development.
Officials responded after receiving reports of sagging floors between the 21st and 26th levels.
According to the report, no injuries were reported among construction workers or members of the public.
The FDNY, along with the New York Police Department, is investigating the cause of the structural failure, and additional information is expected as the inquiry continues.
