Flood warnings remained in effect in parts of the state, including Randolph County, where thunderstorms produced as much as two inches of rain. Emergency officials continued urging residents to remain alert as recovery efforts and cleanup operations progressed.

According to the National Weather Service, additional heavy rain and thunderstorms were expected across the upper Ohio Valley and Appalachian region before a cold front moves the storm system off the East Coast on Tuesday.

Officials warned that the immediate improvement in conditions would not end the risks facing communities still dealing with flooding and storm damage.
