DOJ Faces Audit Over Epstein Files Disclosure

Jeffrey Epstein

The U.S. Department of Justice is under review by its internal watchdog over compliance with a law mandating the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, according to a statement from the Office of the Inspector General.

The report said the audit will examine how the department identified, redacted and disclosed records under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Officials indicated the review could expand if further issues are uncovered.

According to the report, the probe follows complaints that key documents have been withheld. The watchdog said a public report will be issued after the audit is completed.
