President Donald Trump has ordered the Navy to “shoot and kill” any vessels laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions with Iran over the critical shipping route, according to statements posted on Truth Social.

The report said Trump also directed minesweeping operations to intensify, as the U.S. continues enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports. He claimed the United States now has full control over the strait and warned that access would remain restricted until Iran agrees to a deal.

According to U.S. Central Command, cited in the report, dozens of vessels have already been turned back. Shipping traffic has dropped sharply, with only a handful of ships passing daily compared to over 100 in normal conditions.

Iranian officials have rejected reopening the strait under current conditions. The standoff continues to disrupt global oil flows and raise geopolitical risks.
