The U.S. forces have boarded another Iran-linked oil tanker in the Indian Ocean, escalating a series of tit-for-tat maritime actions with Tehran, according to a report by CBS News.

The U.S. military said the vessel, identified as the M/T Majestic X, was a “stateless” tanker transporting Iranian oil and was intercepted as part of efforts to disrupt illicit networks.

The report said this follows earlier U.S. seizures of Iran-linked ships and comes days after Iran captured two commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to officials cited in the report, Iran’s actions are linked to its opposition to the U.S. naval blockade. Philippine authorities confirmed that crew members aboard the seized ships are safe.

Tensions persist despite U.S. President Donald Trump extending a ceasefire. Iran has refused to reopen the strait, keeping global shipping routes under pressure.
