Private chefs, butlers and other household professionals are earning record salaries as wealthy families expand their real estate portfolios and seek highly skilled staff, according to a new report by Morgan & Mallet International.

The report said private chefs in the United States can now earn between $100,000 and $300,000 annually, with Michelin-trained chefs and specialists in dietary requirements commanding the highest pay.

Personal assistants can make up to $250,000, while butlers may earn as much as $180,000. Estate and household managers are also seeing rising salaries because of growing demand and a limited talent pool.

According to the report, affluent families increasingly require staff who can manage multiple homes across different countries while maintaining privacy, discretion and strong technology skills.

Nondisclosure agreements and social media restrictions have become standard for many roles. The study also found that employee loyalty has declined, with household staff now remaining with employers for an average of three years, fueling greater competition for experienced candidates.
