Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his first official visit to New Zealand next week, marking the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in four decades.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced the visit on Friday, describing it as a historic milestone in the growing relationship between the two nations.
The agreement is expected to boost bilateral trade, expand investment opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation between the two Indo-Pacific partners.
Beyond trade, the leaders are expected to discuss regional security, strategic cooperation, education, technology and people-to-people ties.
Officials in both governments have described the visit as a significant step in elevating bilateral relations, with expectations that it will pave the way for closer collaboration across a range of sectors in the years ahead.
