President Donald Trump said he is open to reaching a peace deal with Iran following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on the country’s nuclear facilities during the brief June conflict.
While addressing the Israeli Knesset on Monday, Trump remarked, “It would be great if we could make a peace deal with them… I think they want to.”

The United States, along with its European allies and Israel, has long accused Tehran of using its nuclear program as a cover for weapons development.
Iran continues to insist that its nuclear efforts are strictly for peaceful energy purposes.

Before the 12-day war, Washington and Tehran had engaged in five rounds of nuclear negotiations but failed to agree on key terms, particularly over uranium enrichment inside Iran — an issue Western powers want reduced to zero.
Trump’s comments suggest a possible diplomatic opening after months of heightened tensions in the Middle East.
