Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has voiced opposition to a proposed U.S. sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey, arguing the move would undermine the military balance in the Middle East.
According to the report, President Donald Trump indicated at the NATO summit in Turkey that he is open to reversing the ban on F-35 sales that was imposed during his first term, describing Turkey as an important ally.
Despite the disagreement, he maintained that he and President Trump remain aligned on major strategic issues.
Netanyahu also addressed criticism over violence involving Israeli settlers in the West Bank, describing the incidents as the actions of a small number of offenders.
According to the report, human rights group Yesh Din documented hundreds of reported settler violence incidents earlier this year, while Netanyahu declined to comment extensively on the U.S.-Iran ceasefire negotiations, keeping his focus on the proposed F-35 sale.
