New flight data has strengthened claims that the 2022 crash of a Boeing 737-800 operated by China Eastern Airlines may have been deliberate, according to a report by CNN.
Data released by the National Transportation Safety Board showed that both engine fuel switches were manually moved to the cutoff position while the aircraft was cruising at 29,000 feet. The report said engine power dropped immediately, with no attempt to restart the engines.

The crash of Flight MU5735 in March 2022 killed all 132 people on board, making it China’s deadliest aviation disaster in decades. Chinese authorities have not issued a final report. The Civil Aviation Administration of China has previously denied claims of deliberate action.
Experts cautioned that the data does not confirm motive or who acted, but said the sequence is difficult to explain as a mechanical failure.
