Iran retains significant military capability despite U.S. claims of a decisive victory, according to officials cited in a report by CBS News. Intelligence assessments suggest that roughly half of Iran’s ballistic missile stockpile and about two-thirds of its air force remain operational following recent strikes.
The report said around 60 percent of the naval arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is still intact, including fast-attack boats that continue to disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Officials noted that while Iran’s conventional navy has been heavily damaged, its asymmetric capabilities remain active.
The Islamic Republic of Iran maintains more military capabilities than the White House or Pentagon has publicly admitted, according to multiple U.S. officials with knowledge of intelligence on the matter. https://t.co/7ZZRf91mA1

U.S. President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth have described the operation as a major success. According to Pentagon statements cited in the report, thousands of targets were hit and most large Iranian naval vessels destroyed.
However, intelligence officials cautioned that Iran still has the capacity to threaten regional forces.
