Iran claims its weapons production continued and even increased during its recent war with the United States and Israel, despite extensive strikes on military facilities.
According to Iranian state television, Deputy Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Shahrukh Shahram said Tehran’s enemies underestimated the resilience of its defense industry.
He claimed Iran had moved important facilities before the conflict and relied on a wider network of domestic industries and technology companies to maintain production.
The claims contrast sharply with U.S. assessments. According to testimony cited in the report, U.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper told Congress in May that American forces had damaged or destroyed more than 85% of Iran’s ballistic missile, drone and naval industrial base through more than 1,450 strikes.
Cooper said rebuilding Iran’s naval capacity could take a generation, while missile and drone production could require years to recover.
