Iran said it has “no trust” in the United States and will return to negotiations only if Washington shows seriousness, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Friday during a visit to New Delhi.
According to Reuters, Araghchi blamed “contradictory messages” from the U.S. for slowing efforts to reach a lasting agreement after last month’s ceasefire between Iran, the U.S. and Israel. He said Pakistan-led mediation efforts had not collapsed but were facing “difficulty.”

Araghchi also addressed tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, saying all vessels except those “at war” with Iran could pass through the strategic waterway if they coordinated with Iran’s navy. The report said Tehran sharply restricted shipping through the strait after fighting erupted earlier this year.
Iran warned it remains committed to diplomacy but is also prepared to resume fighting if necessary. Key sticking points in negotiations include Iran’s nuclear programme and Tehran’s control over Hormuz, Reuters reported.
