President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) of mortgage fraud, citing findings from Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division.

In a Truth Social post, Trump alleged Schiff misrepresented his primary residence to obtain favorable mortgage terms on a Maryland property while serving as a California congressman.

“I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist,” Trump wrote. “The fraud began with the refinance of his Maryland property in 2009 and continued until it was designated as a second home in 2020.”

Trump also leveled similar accusations at New York Attorney General Letitia James. Fannie Mae has not released any public documentation confirming the claims.

Schiff’s office did not respond to media inquiries. The accusations come amid a long-running political feud, with Trump framing his actions as “oversight and accountability.” Democrats, including President Biden, have called Trump’s approach “vindictive.” Legal experts expect the matter to face scrutiny if formal charges emerge.
