Trade is expected to dominate the talks, with discussions reportedly focused on extending the existing trade truce, easing export restrictions, and creating new U.S.-China trade and investment boards. Trump arrived with several major American business leaders, including executives from Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia.

Taiwan remains another sensitive issue. Trump recently suggested arms sales to Taiwan could be discussed with Xi, raising concern among supporters of the island.
The Iran conflict is also expected to influence negotiations as Washington seeks greater Chinese cooperation while Beijing pushes for regional stability and diplomatic solutions.
