Trump said Iran had requested the meeting. However, there was no immediate confirmation from Tehran

President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Iran are expected to hold a fresh round of talks in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, following a weekend of military exchanges that threatened ongoing diplomatic efforts.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran had requested the meeting. However, there was no immediate confirmation from Tehran. The report said a senior Iranian official denied that technical talks were scheduled in Doha over the coming days.

The renewed diplomatic push comes after both countries exchanged strikes over the weekend, raising concerns about the stability of negotiations aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.

According to CNBC report, U.S. officials said both sides have agreed to pause hostilities and allow commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route that carries roughly 20% of the world's oil trade.

Trump also welcomed the recent decline in oil and gasoline prices, noting that U.S. crude has returned to levels seen before the Iran conflict began.
