Vice President J.D. Vance defended President Donald Trump’s Iran strategy Tuesday, pushing back on social media “confusion” and emphasizing that Iran’s uranium enrichment is a red line.

Writing on the social media platform X, Vance said Trump has consistently opposed Iran acquiring nuclear weapons for over a decade. He noted the president offered diplomacy, but warned enrichment would end “the easy way or the other way.”

Vance drew a clear line between civilian nuclear power and uranium enrichment, saying Iran rejected peaceful alternatives and violated its non-proliferation obligations. He cited International Atomic Energy Agency findings that Iran enriched uranium well beyond civilian use levels.

Despite growing tensions, Vance said Trump has shown “remarkable restraint” by focusing on protecting U.S. troops and citizens. He added any further action would be the president’s decision, but assured Americans that Trump is acting solely in the nation’s interest.
