President Donald Trump has proclaimed May 28, 2025, as a day to honor the United States Border Patrol (USBP) on its 101st anniversary, praising agents as “guardians of our sovereignty” and sharply criticizing Democrats for refusing to mark the occasion.

In a fiery proclamation released Wednesday, Trump hailed the USBP’s role in combating illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and terrorism. He also slammed the Biden administration for what he called a “betrayal” that allowed an “invasion” of undocumented immigrants.

Trump touted his early actions as president, including resuming border wall construction, deploying troops to the southern border, and launching what he called “the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.” He claimed a 99.99% drop in migrant crossings within his first 100 days in office.

The proclamation honors Border Patrol agents past and present, with Trump pledging continued support for their mission.
