President Donald Trump said Wednesday he’s open to renegotiating parts of his signature tax and spending bill following criticism from Elon Musk, who argued the legislation undermines cost-cutting efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“We will be negotiating that bill, and I’m not happy about certain aspects of it, but I’m thrilled by other aspects,” Trump told reporters, adding the bill “needs to get a lot of support” in Congress.
The bill, dubbed the “Big Beautiful Bill,” narrowly passed the House last week but has faced resistance in the Senate. Musk, who launched DOGE to slash the federal deficit, criticized the bill on CBS as a blow to his efforts, calling its spending increases “disappointing.”
