President Donald Trump has announced that he will deliver a nationally televised address from the White House on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, with election integrity and developments involving Iran expected to be among the key topics.
According to the report, administration advisers said the president intends to make regular primetime addresses and use the speech to promote the SAVE America Act, a voter identification proposal that remains stalled in Congress.
The report said Trump is also expected to discuss allegations of foreign interference in the 2020 election.
It noted that previous reviews by Attorney General Bill Barr and FBI Director Chris Wray found no evidence supporting claims that foreign interference altered the outcome of the election.
According to the report, critics have objected to the planned address, arguing it could further intensify political divisions over the 2020 election.
Advisers described the speech as covering a range of topics, reflecting the administration's broader policy and political agenda.
