President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Tucker Carlson called to apologize for criticizing his Iran policy, saying the former Fox News host admitted his remarks were “a little bit too strong.”
Speaking at the White House, Trump said, “Tucker is a nice guy... I appreciated that,” while reiterating that his supporters oppose Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.
The statement follows Carlson’s tense interview with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, over Iran regime change. Trump insisted both Cruz and Carlson ultimately agree that a nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable.

Carlson, who has warned that military action could “end Trump’s presidency,” argued on Steve Bannon’s podcast that U.S. involvement in the Middle East is a mistake.
Trump dismissed the idea of isolationism, citing a new J.L. Partners poll showing 65% of MAGA Republicans support strikes on Iran. “The Republican base is not isolationist,” said the poll’s co-founder, James Johnson.
