The United Arab Emirates said its air defenses were actively intercepting a “missile threat” on Monday, urging residents to remain indoors and follow official updates. The alert was issued by the country’s emergency authorities, according to official statements.
The warning comes after weeks of relative calm following a ceasefire in the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran. The truce had paused missile and drone attacks by Iran on Gulf allies. However, tensions remain high as Iran continues to challenge maritime activity in the region.

According to reports, Iran has objected to a continued U.S. naval presence, calling it a violation of the ceasefire. In response, it has threatened commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Tensions escalated further after President Donald Trump announced a plan to guide vessels through the strait. If confirmed, this would mark the first missile incident since the ceasefire extension announced in April.
