Commercial flights between the United States and Venezuela are set to resume after nearly seven years, signalling a shift in diplomatic and economic ties.
According to CNN, American Airlines will operate the first flight from Miami to Caracas, marking the restart of regular passenger service.
The report said flights were suspended in 2019 after Washington imposed restrictions. The US recently lifted the ban after determining that security conditions in Venezuela had improved.

The move follows the removal of former leader Nicolás Maduro and the rise of an interim government under Delcy Rodríguez, which has introduced reforms under US pressure. These include releasing political prisoners and opening the oil sector to foreign investment.
President Donald Trump has backed efforts to normalize ties, including easing sanctions.
Despite these developments, Venezuela’s economy remains fragile, and questions persist over the timeline for democratic elections and long-term political stability.
