White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Monday that the United States Trade Representative (USTR) sent letters to all active trading partners, reminding them of the fast-approaching July 8 deadline to finalize trade deals.

“The USTR sent this letter to all of our trading partners to give them a friendly reminder that the deadline is coming up,” Leavitt said. “The President expects good deals. We are on track for that, I will emphasise.”

The letter outlines specific areas for offers, including tariffs, quotas, digital trade, and economic security. It signals Washington’s intent to evaluate proposals swiftly and propose "landing zones" with reciprocal tariff terms.

While U.S. officials have touted progress, only one deal with Britain has been reached so far. Final stages of negotiations are ongoing with partners including the EU, India, Japan, and Vietnam.
