FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced new updates on the bureau’s reform efforts and high-profile investigations in a social media post Monday, signaling an aggressive push under the Trump administration to restore public trust.
Bongino said most incoming reform team hires will be finalized by next week, helping the FBI “double down” on its reform agenda. He also confirmed renewed focus on several politically sensitive cases, including the 2021 D.C. pipe bombing, the cocaine found at the Biden-era White House, and the leak of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision.

-The Director and I will have most of our incoming reform teams in place by next week. The hiring process can take a little bit of time, but we are approaching that…
“These cases have understandably garnered public interest,” Bongino wrote. “We are making progress.”
He noted that he and the Director receive weekly briefings and called on the public to provide any helpful tips. Limiting media appearances, Bongino said updates will continue through written posts to ensure transparency. He pledged further clarity in response to recent public feedback.
