U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is increasing arrests of travelers with expired visas at major airports, according to immigration attorneys who say the practice has become more widespread.

Recent detentions have been reported at airports in Denver, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Nashville.

According to the report, ICE is using passenger information provided by the Transportation Security Administration to identify individuals with expired visas before they board domestic flights.

The agency reportedly views airports as secure locations for enforcement as it works toward the Trump administration's deportation goals.

The report highlighted recent arrests, including Chantal Alejandra Morales Rojas at Denver International Airport on July 20 and Iryna Gorb at San Francisco International Airport two days later.

Jeff Joseph, president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, said the level of coordination between TSA and ICE is unprecedented.

While the Department of Homeland Security declined to discuss operational details, advocates warn airport enforcement could continue to expand.
