Iran has announced a six-day funeral programme for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed on February 28 in a U.S.-Israeli strike, according to Iranian state media.
The report said ceremonies will begin on July 4 in Tehran, with the main funeral procession scheduled for July 6.
According to state media, Khamenei's body will then be taken to Qom before travelling to the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. The final ceremony will be held on July 9 in Mashhad, where he will be buried.
