Iran Warns Next Round Of Negotiations Will Be Tougher

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said implementing the deal would be more difficult than negotiating it, according to a statement carried by state broadcaster IRIB.

Iran signaled that the most challenging stage of its agreement with the United States is still ahead, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said implementing the deal would be more difficult than negotiating it, according to a statement carried by state broadcaster IRIB.

Baqaei added that maritime activity had resumed normally at Iranian ports after the United States lifted its naval blockade. He said ships were moving in and out without disruption.

Meanwhile, Switzerland confirmed that the first round of negotiations on implementing the agreement will begin Friday at the Burgenstock resort near Lucerne.

According to the Swiss Foreign Ministry, representatives from the United States and Iran will meet alongside mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, as well as other participating countries.

The report said the meeting was initially expected to serve as a formal signing ceremony. However, the memorandum was signed earlier than anticipated, with President Donald Trump signing in France while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed remotely. Negotiators will now focus on translating the framework into concrete commitments.
