Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said a diplomatic resolution to the Iran conflict is “just about to be achieved,” urging all parties to exercise restraint following the most serious escalation in violence in two months.
He described the latest surge in hostilities as a reminder of the risks posed by a fragile ceasefire and the broader consequences of a prolonged conflict.
According to the report, Pakistan has been actively involved in mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. Islamabad hosted talks in April and has continued working to arrange further direct discussions.
The report said President Donald Trump also called on both sides to immediately halt military action. Shortly afterward, Iran announced a suspension of operations, while reports indicated Israel paused strikes on Iran but would continue operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
