Russian President Vladimir Putin will oversee a scaled-down Victory Day parade in Moscow this year, reflecting mounting military and domestic pressures, according to analysis reported by CNN.

The report said Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed that no heavy military equipment will be displayed in Red Square, marking a sharp departure from past shows of strength. Officials cited the “current operational situation,” while Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed to security threats from Ukraine.

According to CNN, the move comes as Russian forces face setbacks in Ukraine and increasing drone strikes targeting infrastructure and even Moscow. Economic strain is also rising, with reports of labor shortages and ongoing disruptions affecting daily life.

The scaled-back parade highlights growing pressure on the Kremlin, raising questions about Russia’s military capacity and stability as the war continues.
