Russian troops are reportedly gathering near Ukraine’s northeastern border in a sign of a possible new offensive aiming to expand Moscow’s foothold in the region.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that Russia was preparing for new offensive actions and had gathered “another group of troops near our border”, about 90 kilometres north-west of Kharkiv city.
The Washington DC-based think-tank The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said satellite imagery of the Grayvoron-Borisovka-Proletarskiy area in western Belgorod suggested Russian forces had expanded activities at depots and warehouses in recent weeks, according to MSN.
